Entangled Photons
Telepresence Performance2004
Inspired by the physics concept of quantum entanglement, which Albert Einsten called "spooky action at a distance," this telepresence intermedia performance was presented simultaneously at two sites.
John Crawford created a live video mix for the Entangled Photons project in which live video of dancers in both sites was processed with the Active Space intermedia performance system to create an abstract, painterly scenic environment. Presented by the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2), at the UCI Calit2 building opening, the media system linked the Calit2 courtyard on the ground floor with the eMedia Studio on the second floor.
Production date: November 2004.
