An interactive video installation in the permanent collection at Children’s Creativity Museum (formerly Zeum), a multimedia arts and technology museum in San Francisco.

Visitors choose music and visual effects to dance on live video against a green screen backdrop. Z-Dance responds directly to visitors and their motion using the Active Space intermedia performance system, creating visuals and sound to influence the ways people move in the space. The resulting movement calls up new sequences of sounds and images, inspiring participants to further improvisational movement explorations. Subsequently renamed Groove-It, the installation was in continuous operation through 2014.
