Leave A Trace @UCI

An online participatory artwork in which crowdsourced photos were used as source material for a site-specific online video montage, created using electricFX intermedia software.

Presented from March to June 2023 at UC Irvine and online, Leave A Trace empowered people to “leave a trace” of their presence in the environment by using their mobile devices to capture an image of their personal engagment with one or more specific locations on the UCI campus, inspired by a series of ten sitefilms that participants were encouraged to watch as part of the process. An online portal accepted the images that were uploaded by participants, transforming their submissions into a continually changing site-specific online montage based on the crowdsourced photo responses.
